The COVID-19 outbreak has forced most of us to adjust our business models to survive in the modified pandemic world. As we approach the post-pandemic era and return to some of our former practices, a “new normal” will emerge with remnants of the COVID recession and require innovation to further evolve our models.

When tackling business problems that we have no experience solving, innovation is the key. The design thinking process is an excellent user-centric approach to using innovation to arrive at solutions fully meeting your customer’s needs.

This TIGER Talk will give an overview of the design thinking process and will highlight innovation practices from the process that can be used immediately to help your teams start innovating today!

Our presenter, Ray Waite is a futurist, passionate about helping individuals, entrepreneurs, and organizations understand and develop the skills necessary to survive and thrive in the emerging turbulent marketplace. He is the founder of Lighthouse Force LLC, dedicated to leading businesses in the areas of innovation, design thinking, critical thinking and transformation management.

Ray loves taking the complex and explaining it in a practical way that can be easily applied. He brings a valuable blend of corporate and academia experience to his facilitated workshops, keynote speeches and consulting, with over 20 years as senior manager in the business commerce and telecom industries at IBM, Lucent Technologies, and AT&T Bell Laboratories, and over 15 years as university instructor at Franklin University.

Ray holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the National Speakers Association and a board member for the Ohio chapter. Ray holds a Project Management Professional certification (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute. Ray is a member of Toastmasters International and he is certified as a Virtual Presenter by eSpeakers.
