Intellectual Property Issues for Startup Companies

Isaac Molnar, Intellectual Property Counsel for the Ohio Attorney General, will share intellectual property issues that startup companies are most likely to encounter and will focus on questions and issues facing attendees. Attendees should come prepared to discuss IP questions in the area of patents, trade secrets, trademarks and copyrights, as well as a host of “agreement” issues relating to NDAs, employment agreements, confidentiality policies, IP licenses, SaaS agreements and other IP-related agreements.
Mr. Molnar is the Intellectual Property Counsel for the Ohio Attorney General. As IP Counsel he is involved in significant outreach to pre-revenue companies to discuss various ways the State of Ohio can improve commercialization and specific IP issues companies are facing. He also hosts IP-focused workshops for startup companies around the state via JumpStart, Youngstown Business Incubator, OU Innovation Center and the Dublin Entrepreneurial Center.
Prior to working for the AG, Mr. Molnar spent 13 years in private practice working in the areas IP litigation and IP transactions with a focus on patent litigation. He has served an adjunct faculty at Case Western Law School teaching a class on patent litigation.
