SUMMARY:Culture + Compensation: Building a Company People Actually Want to Stay For
DESCRIPTION:7775 Walton Pkwy\, Suite 100\nNew Albany\, OH 43054\nWednesday 6/17/26\, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm\nBe ready to interact with our speakers\, Jen Meek & Chandler Kuhn\, and your fellow participants. \nEat. Mingle. Make new friends.\nStartups and growing companies often assume retention is solved with bigger salaries or trendy perks. It’s not. \nThe companies that keep great people usually get the fundamentals right first: clear expectations\, meaningful work\, strong leadership\, thoughtful compensation\, and a culture people trust. \nIn this TIGER Talk\, our featured speakers\, Jen Meek & Chandler Kuhn\, will talk about what really drives retention in small and growing businesses\, especially when budgets are tight and every hire matters. They’ll cover practical ways to create an employee experience that feels intentional\, scalable\, and honest. From compensation beyond a paycheck to communication rhythms\, leadership accountability\, and smart approaches to benefits and equity. \nThis won’t be a conversation about ping pong tables and free snacks. It’s about building a company people believe in. \n**************** \nJennifer Meek\, MBA\, SPHR\, MFHA\, is CHRO and Head of People Solutions at Book+Street. Jen is a result-driven executive\, guiding leaders in laying the foundational work of their talent strategy. Going beyond the everyday Human Resources issues\, she aligns people strategy with the overall goals and objectives of an organization. This intentional and authentic approach leads to identifying areas where an organization can continue to develop and thrive. \nPrior to Book+Street\, Jen built 25 years of senior leadership experience; she served as Vice President of HR for a multibillion-dollar private equity-owned company in the oil and gas industry\, with 1500 employees in 22 countries. Additionally\, Jen was the President\, CEO\, and member of the Board of Directors of an HR consulting organization for 12 years. \n**************** \nChandler Kuhn\, MBA\, SPHR\, is an accomplished HR Manager at Book+Street with a strong background in human resources management\, payroll\, and executive recruitment. He partners with founders and leadership teams to build scalable people operations\, ensuring compliance while shaping effective\, high-impact HR strategies. \nChandler brings deep experience across multi-state HR operations\, with expertise in policy development\, payroll\, performance tracking\, and benefits administration. Since joining Book+Street\, he has expanded his work across a diverse range of industries including car dealerships\, law firms\, AI\, music festivals\, and supply chain. \nKnown for his proactive approach\, Chandler has developed a reputation for making policy creation second nature and building frameworks that teams actively rely on. One of his proudest accomplishments has been seeing the handbooks and policies he created put into action across growing organizations. \n**************** \nLike all TIGER Events\, this talk is FREE.\n11:00 am – Coffee\, Snacks\, & Socializing\n11:15 am – Lunch & More Socializing\n11:45 am – Introduce yourself to our crowd (10 seconds please)\n12:05 pm – Hand-off to Jen & Chandler\n1:00 pm – Wrap & Resume Socializing \n\n\n \n Name*\n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n \n Email*\n \n Company*Consent to Use My Image & Voice*By registering for & participating in this event\, I am consenting to the recording of my image and/or voice.
