Anyone who has enjoyed the addictively funny Top Ten Lists on the Late Show with David Letterman will crack up over the aptly named cracked.com which raises the listicle – an article in the form of a numbered list – to an art form.

With lists like “5 Amazing Things Invented by Donald Duck (Seriously)” and “6 Scientific Reasons Why Your Girlfriend’s Father Hates You,” the crowd-sourcing portal attracts 7.3 million unique visitors monthly and has spawned a best-selling book and iPad app.

Acquired by Demand Media in 2007, an outfit that uses algorithms to determine story popularity, cracked.com enlists the listicle talents of more than 2,500 amateurs who pitch stories while other users provide feedback. Editors sharpen the best materials and participants can earn up to $350 for entries like “15 Unintentionally Perverted Toys for Children” as well as bonuses for the most popular lists.

Innovate New Albany, the city’s incubator for technology startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses, features 16,000 square feet of space within the New Albany Business Park’s Signature Office Building, 8000 Walton Parkway.
