The Equity Partners in Community Health organization seeks to empower communities to affect positive change within their communities through the development of strategic partnerships, increasing awareness of the social determinants of equity and helping to develop strategies to increase the number of communities of opportunity in our country and throughout the world.
Community Health Workers, public health professionals and community lay persons will become stronger and more confident with developing strategies that are aligned with the National Stakeholder Strategy for Achieving Health Equity and evolving public health strategies.
EPIC has provided training at the CDC, New Jersey Department of Health, Louisiana Department of Health, the NACDD Chronic Disease Academy and various other sites.

PEERRO is an app-based business that helps employers locate and hire high-potential entry level employees typically aged 18-23 with high school diploma. As mentioned last month, PEERRO provides employers the advantage of a ready supply of candidates pre-screened for qualifications and work ethic, as judged by teachers, guidance counselors, or previous employers. This resource could be helpful to companies in New Albany that struggle to find enough qualified candidates for their open positions, including manufacturing, assembly, etc. Cherie is reviewing PEERRO’s services and evaluating whether they might complement work she has been doing with the NA High School Principal to help non-college-bound students find meaningful job opportunities.
