Description, as provided by our speakers:
What is the Ohio State Battelle Center for Science, Engineering, and Public Policy and why are we necessary? i.e., What’s the gap that we fill? What’s our value proposition?
The Battelle Center is the connection point at OSU between world class scientific research and education with public agencies, organizations, and employers. We will be of value to the innovative employers of Central Ohio by connecting them with the exact faculty and students who will help to drive their mission and achieve their goals.
How does the Battelle Center foster innovation in Central Ohio?
Through our mission-serving activities, Specifically: experiential learning, career pipelining, and applied research & development.
We help companies, agencies, and organizations in Central Ohio to best utilize the resource that exists in the form of a world-class research university with a mission toward improving the prosperity of the citizens of the state. To that end, we train students from a wide range of disciplines to work together to solve problems and contribute to the public good through an integrated, innovative, problem-solving approach. We then help those students and employers in the region to get connected for mutual benefit. Additionally, we connect research to the real world.
How can you/members of the Innovate New Albany network help your own organizations while also supporting the Battelle Center? Bring us your challenges and wicked problems. Tell us what the characteristics of your ideal hires are. Through a membership with the center, you can present to students, connect with research labs, and engage with student consulting teams.
