We all know the phrase “cash is king,” but few business leaders really understand that cash flow considerations need to be the catalyst that drives organizational strategy.
And, even worse, research suggests that nearly two-thirds of organizations actually do not even have an accurate understanding of their cash positions. Companies often default to justifying big strategic decisions based on accounting profit – the simplest economic indicator to calculate and refer to, but often not the most important.
This TIGER Workshop will provide 5 Best Practices that entrepreneurs and other business leaders can use to paint accurate financial pictures of their organizations. And this will provide the foundation needed to create value-building strategic plans for the future.
While serving as the Chief Operating Officer for a small nonprofit, our workshop leader Shaunacy Webster learned that almost any organization can benefit from having a COO to “operationalize” the strategic vision on a daily basis. However, smaller organizations rarely have the luxury of making a dedicated hire whose role is to implement their operations roadmap.
So, Shaunacy founder her firm Webster Consulting Group with the mission of providing small to medium size organizations with the services of a fractional COO, Chief Development Officer and Chief Marketing Officer support while also relying on a seasoned team of freelance experts to establish and integrate the functional areas of operations (finance, human resources, program development, government relations, etc…). Such resources can help smaller organization successfully translate their growth goals into reality on a repeatable basis.
Shaunacy has experience working in Fortune 500 companies, top educational and research organizations, an internationally recognized science center, an international corporate training company, and community nonprofit organizations.
These organizations include Nationwide, The RAND Corporation, The Ohio State University, Mindleaders, COSI, Columbus Montessori Education Center and Chabad Columbus – Home to LifeTown.
Shaunacy is co-author of the Stop to Live curriculum – the only prescription drug education initiative for children with special needs. She speaks on topics related to interactive education and training and believes learning should be fun. Shaunacy holds BA from Ohio Dominican University in Psychology with a concentration in Business Administration and MA from New York Institute of Technology in Communications with a specialization in Public Relations and Advertising.
