Every year, the U.S. Government invests billions of dollars that it budgets to fund the R&D efforts of startups and small businesses. In fact, the National Science Foundation refers to its SBIR program as “America’s Seed Fund”.
SBIR is just one fund that the Federal Government has created to support research it believes has great promise to address important needs and be commercialized successfully. Federal agencies actually offer a wide variety of programs for this purpose, with an alphabet soup of acronyms abbreviating its many program names: SBIR, STTR, BAA, FOA, OTAs, and more!
Through this TIGER Talk, you’ll learn what each of these programs is and how you can secure some of this NON-DILUTIVE funding for your projects. Just one successful project can bring in $2.5M – or more. And, you can apply for funding through many of these programs while you still have “a day job” and while your business is still just an idea!
