Village Launches Innovate New Albany

The Village of New Albany has launched Innovate New Albany. The multi-year initiative is designed to leverage and deploy the Village’s unique assets – a thriving ecosystem of innovators and entrepreneurs, business connectivity and public-private partnerships – to inspire creativity, discovery and commerce. Created by innovators for innovators, New Albany hopes to capitalize on its legacy.

From large multi-national enterprises such as Abercrombie and Fitch and Commercial Vehicle Group to startup firms and everything in between, New Albany businesses share more than a location. “They share a drive to challenge the status quo and an entreprenuerial spirit that fuels commerce,” says Jennifer Chrysler, community relations director. “We are already seeing a tremendous level of synergy among businesses that began with dialogue and we hope to keep that momentum grow.”

Among the highlights of Innovate New Albany, which includes the Innovation Exchange blog you are reading:

• The creation of Innovate New Albany, the Village’s expanded incubator program in partnership with TechColumbus for startups and small businesses located at the epicenter of the Village’s business park – 8000 Walton Parkway.
• A Leadership Roundtable for CIOs and other C-level executives designed to provide input on technological advancements necessary for expanding commerce.
• Targeted investment in four Innovation Campuses within the business park – research and information, retail, healthcare, personal care and beauty, and clean energy – to focus on specific areas of expertise and foster synergistic relationships among similar businesses.

Innovate New Albany, the city’s incubator for technology startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses, features 16,000 square feet of space within the New Albany Business Park’s Signature Office Building, 8000 Walton Parkway.
