Partnership Brings $15 Million to State’s Innovation Economy
A partnership between hospitals, universities, research institutions and state government has resulted in a $15.4 million investment in the continued growth of the region’s innovation economy. The Ohio Third Frontier Commission has recommended $7.7 million to fully fund the Central Ohio Entrepreneurial Signature Program for 2013 and 2014. Central Ohio partners, including Battelle, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, OhioHealth, The Ohio State University and others, will match the award.
The investment will support the Innovation Gateway, a program dedicated to launching high-growth startups based on Ohio State research and technology platforms. The $2.6 million program will formally link Ohio State’s Technology Commercialization Office and TechColumbus’ business development and entrepreneurial expertise.
