Index Ranks Region 4th in Economic Strength
Great things are happening, not only in New Albany but across Central Ohio. The Columbus Region finished 2012 with a 5.4% unemployment rate and in December was ranked as the nation’s 4th strongest economy in the On Numbers Economic Index.
In New Albany, 8 national and multinational businesses have opened within the New Albany Personal Care and Beauty Business Park alone while Exhibitpro recently broke ground in the park and Axium announced plans to nearly double their facility.
In November, IBM announced that it would place its Client Center for Advanced Analytics in Columbus. The operation, a first-of-its-kind, will create at least 500 new jobs and will make Columbus a global center of big data excellence.
