Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you have noticed that the rate of new advances, discoveries and technologies has grown exponentially in recent years. Now, a new report from the McKinsey Global Institute looks at 12 examples that could have a vast impact on the economy, environment, agriculture and public health.

According to Disruptive technologies: Advances that will transform life, business, and the global economy, the 12 technologies include mobile internet, automation of knowledge work, internet of things, cloud, advanced robotics, autonomous and near-autonomous vehicles, next-generation genomics, energy storage, 3-D printing, advanced materials, advanced oil and gas exploration and recovery and renewable energy.
