Bluemile Named Among Inc. Magazine’s Fastest Growing Companies

Shortly after announcing a new multi-million dollar expansion of its capabilities and network, Bluemile was named the 445th fastest growing company and the 16th fastest growing telecommunications firm in America by Inc. Magazine in its September issue. The company has experienced a 780% increase in sales in the last three years.

The list represents the most comprehensive compilations of one of the most important segments of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs. “We are honored by the award and recognition,” says Bluemile President and Co-Founder, Michael Marlowe.

“A piece of the Silicon Valley is now here in Ohio”, notes Mark Kvamme, President, JobsOhio, the state’s economic development arm. “We are excited to have a company like Bluemile, that started, is headquartered and actively adding jobs in our state, being recognized for their achievements. Because of the cloud services Bluemile offers, they attract and bring other businesses to the area by improving access and operations.”

Bluemile’s growth, including hiring 50 new employees this year, has been hastened by its new partnership with BlueBridge Networks based in Cleveland. An investment of $11 million in new servers, software licenses and upgrades to the companies’ data centers will enable the partnership to offer customers a more advanced, secure cloud computing platform.

Headquartered in New Albany, Ohio, Bluemile owns and operates a national optical and IP network, highly redundant data centers and an enterprise cloud infrastructure that is powered by EMC, VCE, VMware, and Dell. The Bluemile network is currently operational in Columbus, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Cleveland with expansion underway into the Boston and Chicago markets.
