Bob Evans Farms broke ground on their New Albany headquarters last week in high style—complete with team of draft horses and a slew of city and state executives. The $35 million corporate office should be open for business in October 2013.
”Bob Evans Farms is a food company and we knew our corporate headquarters needed to reflect that first and foremost,” says Chairman and CEO Steven A. Davis who is also a New Albany resident. “The kitchen is the ‘heart of the home’, so our test kitchens – truly a world-class food innovation center – will be central to the entire campus. Our corporate chefs and, indeed, all our employees will be able to bring farm-fresh inspiration to their work.”
The campus features a “farmstead” layout with orchards, a natural pond and gardens honoring company founders Bob, Dan and Emerson Evans. The heritage and story of the company will be prominently displayed in the main lobby as a permanent exhibit.
“We intend the campus to be an interactive, educational farm experience for employees and visitors,” adds Davis.
