From actors, filmmakers and musicians to inventors and entrepreneurs, the 20th annual South by Southwest® Conferences & Festivals is well underway offering one of the most unique convergences of original music, independent films and emerging technologies. SXSW 2013 started this weekend and runs through March 17 in Austin, Texas.
In keeping with its innovative pedigree, SXSW selects its programming through the PanelPicker, an online tool that allows the SXSW community to have a significant voice in conference activities through an open proposal and voting process.
“The core of SXSW’s programming is to involve and engage the community with diverse and compelling content,” says Roland Swenson, SXSW’s managing director. “PanelPicker allows our community to not only have a voice in what we program, but share their innovative ideas.
