WOW! Business Services Acquires Bluemile

WOW!, a leading high-speed Internet, cable TV and phone company, recently acquired central Ohio-based Bluemile, a data center and cloud service provider that will give WOW! Business Services inroads into the Internet cloud sector while adding to its data center capabilities.

The arrangement enables WOW! to leverage Bluemile’s expertise in mission-critical data networking and cloud infrastructure as well as its network presence in New Your City and Boston to meet Wow! customer needs. Meanwhile, Bluemile’s clients will benefit from WOW!’s national carrier backbones that offer greater efficiency, faster delivery and more bandwidth and security.

Bluemile CEO and cofounder Jamie Busic will remain with the newly formed entity as will its 60 employees in central Ohio where WOW! plans to add additional sales and engineering staff.

In 2008, the city of New Albany partnered with Bluemile and became the first in the state to create a joint venture partnership with a broadband operator to light its fiber. Today, Bluemile continues to operate New Albany Net offering businesses savings of 10 to 70% as well as custom redundancy and all the connectivity of a Tier 1 telecom provider.
