When it comes to job prospects for young employees from 21 to 30 years of age, Columbus ranks number two according to a study of U.S. cities compiled by the Georgetown Center on Education and the Workforce.
In an analysis of data from the U.S. Census and American Community Survey, the city has a 77.7% youth employment rate, higher than the national average of 70%. Nationally, youth employment took a hit between 2000 and 2011 with a decline of 8% among those in their early twenties and 12% among those in their late 20s.
The Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolis ranked first with a 79.6% employment rate. Read more at businessinsider.com.
