Zynga’s Willy Wonka-Like Digs

Zynga, the company behind such time-sucking online games as Words with Friends, FarmVille and Scramble with Friends, recently moved into a new $228 million headquarters. Designed to emulate Willy Wonka’s factory from the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the new digs feature an entrance tunnel that sends visitors through a multi-colored light display complete with Las Vegas casino blinking lights.

Mark Pincus, the CEO of Zynga, is convinced that his employees will create better games if they are having fun and immersed in their work. He says, “If you’re working on FarmVille, you should feel like you’re on a farm…I wish there was hay on the floor and goats walking around. The more the virtual feels real, the more fun and entertaining it is for our players.”
