New Albany Web Developer at White House Event

Steve Grunwell, part of New Albany-based Buckeye Interactive’s web development team, participated in the National Day of Civic Hacking at The White House last weekend. The event was attended by a handful of civic activists, technology experts and entrepreneurs chosen by the White House.

“I was honored and humbled to be among the few selected to participate the National Day of Civic Hacking,” Grunwell said, noting that the event was attended by some of the country’s brightest, most creative programmers.

Participants incorporate their expertise with new technologies and publicly released data to develop tools to support We the People, the White House petition system. “We are all excited about The White House’s momentum toward open government data,” added Brad Griffith, CEO of Buckeye Interactive, one of the first companies to move into Innovate New Albany, New Albany’s incubator for technology startups.
