Mark Kvamme, a former partner at the venture capital firm Sequoia Capital, motocross enthusiast and head of Jobs Ohio, the state’s economic development agency, is featured in the June edition of Fortune magazine in an article titled, “Can This Man Save Ohio’s Economy?”
While it doesn’t answer the question, it does suggest that his venture capital credentials, affinity for startups, financial agility and creativity may be just what the state needs to jumpstart lagging investment. Among his successes, the comedy website Funny or Die was Kvamme’s brainchild.
The article reports his interest in a familiar idea already taking root in New Albany, “manufacturing hubs that include entire supply chains.” Read more.
