It’s that time of the year again and Buckeye fans as well as entrepreneurs can draw some very useful lessons from the college football season, notes Michael Bowers in the Ideas To Deals blog.

Among the insights, “put the past behind you because it was bad,” a reference to Ohio State’s tragic drama that resulted in programmatic changes, sanctions and the loss of its coach. Bowers also advises startups to “put the past behind you because it was good,” noting that past success, as in the case of 2011 National Champions Alabama, can often backfire if the team rests on its laurels.
