Start-up companies face a number of hurdles in the early stages, but accounting shouldn’t be one of them. That’s why TechColumbus and Clarus Partners are hosting a program called Lessons Learned from Shark Tank, named after the popular ABC reality show where entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas to sharks in the hopes that they will bankroll their ideas.

This presentation offers insights on basic accounting functions needed to compile accurate data, the importance of financial record keeping and valuing a business. Clarus Partners is a boutique accounting firm with an expertise in business valuation. The event takes place from 7:30 to 9:30 am at TechColumbus, 1275 Kinnear Road. It is free for members and $15 for nonmembers.
