Slow Is Fast: Meditative Tools for Innovation and Well-Being

February 28 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

| TIGER Tools Workshop

Part of TIGER Events’ “Healthy Habits for Innovators” Series

WED 2/28/24, 11:30 am – 1:00 pm

SPECIAL LOCATION: IN-PERSON at Phillip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany, 150 W. Main St., New Albany, OH 43054

Be ready to interact with our presenter, David Iozzi, and your fellow participants.

Please arrive at 11:30 am. Eat. Mingle. Make new friends.

In this TIGER Tools Workshop, our workshop leader David Iozzi will engage us in practical and transformative meditation techniques well-suited to innovators, entrepreneurs, and business leaders who want to move beyond simply preventing burnout to cultivating new capabilities for sustaining their best and highest work.

Participants will gain first hand experience of why “slow is fast” as we explore how taking time to incorporate meditation throughout our day isn’t a zero-sum game. Learn how the time-tested discipline of meditation, now being validated by contemporary neuroscience, is a strategic investment.

Leave equipped with simple yet powerful tools to:

  • Develop more clarity, focus on what matters most, and resist the distraction of the attention economy
  • Restore a sense of stability and resilience amidst the busyness of everyday life
  • Identify counterproductive and habitual patterns of mind and increase your capacity for meeting the complexities and challenges of work
  • Rejuvenate your energy, ignite creativity, and accelerate growth

Join other leaders in exploring how we can upgrade our inner operating system to accomplish more without sacrificing well-being.

David Iozzi is a nonprofit executive, former systems engineer, and meditation teacher who has been leading retreats, teaching online programs, guiding communities of practice, and mentoring individuals around the world since 2006.

While working as a principal research scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute, the largest independent nonprofit applied science and technology organization in the world, he founded “InMeditation”, Battelle’s organization-wide meditation program serving the Columbus, OH, headquarters, regional offices, and the national laboratories it manages. The year-round program supported “the business of innovation” through courses, workshops, retreats, one-on-one meditation instruction and executive coaching.

David’s primary meditation training is within a Buddhist tradition as a close student of Dr. Reginald A. Ray, spending two to three months per year in group and solitary retreat for nearly two decades. During that time he was a senior teacher for Dharma Ocean, the nonprofit founded by Dr. Ray, and from 2013 to 2020 he also served as executive director, leading growth of the organization’s multi-million dollar retreat center and online programming serving a worldwide community.

He currently serves as Director of Studies at the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care, overseeing curriculum development and directing the Contemplative Medicine Fellowship, a twelve month medical fellowship for physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, and physician assistants that he co-created with the Zen Center’s founders in 2021.
