The JobsOhio Growth Capital Fund (JOGC) is the venture arm for Ohio’s private economic development organization, JobsOhio.
JOGC is a co-investment fund that invests in early stage companies who are Ohio-based or planning to locate a significant presence in Ohio, with over 70 companies in the portfolio thus far.
Come learn about JOGC’s origins during the pandemic, its progress to date, and its processes for investment decisions. At JOGC, Frank is nicknamed the ‘Cap Table Captain,’ so, appropriately enough, he will be discussing important cap table considerations for entrepreneurs while also overviewing startup and venture fund modeling in Excel, showing how it helps his team make better informed investments!

Our session leader, Frank Geib, is a proud life-long Ohioan, raised in the Cleveland area before he earned his Bachelor Degree at The Ohio State University, where he majored in Finance while minoring in Engineering Sciences. Frank also earned his MBA at OSU’s Fisher College of Business before joining the JobsOhio Growth Capital team in 2022 as the Venture Analyst .
Frank supports all areas of the fund’s operations, with a heavy focus on the analytical aspects behind investment opportunities. For every deal the fund considers, Frank builds out comprehensive models projecting various follow-on and return scenarios to help the team make better informed decisions. He also maintains the Portfolio Management System for the fund, tracking investments, cap tables, asset values, and return metrics quarter over quarter.
When he’s not head deep in a “waterfall model,” Frank enjoys relaxing with his wife and dog, and playing plenty of golf with his friends and family.
He even has his own social media page, @GeibGolf, where he edits and shares weekly golf vlogs with the world, bringing out his creative side.
