New Albany Achieves City Status Thanks to Quality of Life
It’s official. On April 29th, New Albany reached a milestone—city status. Certification was received from the Ohio Secretary of State’s office which confirmed that the 2010 census counted 7,724 New Albany residents, exceeding the 5,000 limit for villages.
Founded in 1837 and reinvented in the late 1980s by world-renowned business, civic and philanthropic leaders, New Albany has become a magnet for senior level executives, entrepreneurs, knowledge workers and the creative class at all ages and stages of life. The growth comes as no surprise and city leaders plan to stay true to the villages roots. See City Manager Joe Stefanov’s comments.
