Griffin Hollow Studio, a Columbus-based company that offers a wide variety of eco-friendly products crafted from reclaimed materials, recently raised $20,000 from more than 200 backers across the country through Kickstarter, a national crowdfunding site.
Griffin Hollow Studio founder and Columbus artisan, Alex Traxler, launched the 45 day campaign to purchase a computer-controlled laser cutter that he will use to create everything from jewelry, ties and key chains to a variety of customized commercial products for clients such as beer sampler trays for area breweries. Customers can also bring their designs to be prototyped and produced at the studio. The unique reclamation artworks reduce all types of waste ranging from scratched sheets of acrylic to old furniture.
Supporters of Griffin Hollow’s Kickstarter campaign received rewards that ranged from money clips to wooden mouse pads. Additionally, Griffin Hollow planted a tree for every pledge above $10.
