Innovate New Albany, New Albany’s business incubator for startups, is the home of SoftSyl Technologies a company that is using their innovative software platforms to bring Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems to small and medium sized businesses. IVR is an advanced phone system that allows for automated, interactive interface between callers. The systems require a traditional phone line as well as a complex software application run on a platform.

Most large multi-national companies commonly use IVR systems but due to high implementation and maintenance costs, the advanced technology is often out of reach for smaller companies. That is the niche market that SoftSyl is targeting. The company’s proprietary technology is the “intelligence behind the automation and routing of calls” and is both cost-effective and enterprise grade.

In late 2009, SoftSyl began working with TechStart at New Albany to help formalize its business plan and make connections with key partners, customers and resources. TechStart which offers technology entrepreneurs access to business development services, seed funding and a network of contacts and resources helpful in launching and scaling high growth companies was also instrumental in SoftSyl’s relocation to Innovate New Albany.
