Movement Encourages Millennials to Start Businesses

With the unemployment rate for young adults twice that of all workers, a new campaign, Buy Young, is trying to show young people that they can build their own businesses and create jobs for the economy.

The initiative kicked off with meetings at the White House and Capital Hill attended by young entrepreneurs, including the founders of WordPress and Living Social.

“You have plenty of years to fall back on backup plans,” says Reza Farsi, 25, cofounder of State Bicycle Company, a fixed gear bicycle company that tripled sales in just two years. “It is just so much easier to do something you love.”

Innovate New Albany, the city’s incubator for technology startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses, features 16,000 square feet of space within the New Albany Business Park’s Signature Office Building, 8000 Walton Parkway.
