Innovative Information:

  • Mon June 10 – Attended “Intro to EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System)” event at Four Points Hotel – Polaris, hosted by Mark Whitmore, Professional EOS Implementer, of Ravenna, OH.  Goal was to learn more about EOS and evaluate Mark as a possible future TIGER Workshop leader. 
  • Wed June 12 – Had phone meeting with Anna Forge, Senior Sales Executive with Textio, a Seattle-based software firm specializing in “Augmented Writing.”  One focus for Textio is helping large employers improve their ability to write job ads and job descriptions that attract diverse workforces that help drive improve business results.  Explored the possibility of hosting Textio leaders in New Albany, possibly including for a TIGER Talk in Fall 2019 or Winter 2020.
  • Thu June 13 – Hosted Elio Harmon, Founder of 614Startups, a new media company created “to tell the story of Columbus’ entrepreneurial ecosystem.”  614 Startups runs a podcast focused on interviews with Columbus-based entrepreneurs. Explored opportunities for Innovate New Albany to collaborate with 614Startups including setting up New Albany based entrepreneurs for interviews on the 614Startups platform. 
  • Thu June 20 – As part of CIC Meeting at Innovate New Albany, hosted leaders of Bowling Green State University’s Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership – Kirk Kern .  Learned about the Center’s purpose and programs including their signature student entrepreneurship pitch program – “The Hatch.” Explored opportunities for Innovate to collaborate with Bowling Green for the benefit of the New Albany community.  Agreed to follow-up conversations after discussion here locally.
  • Fri June 21 – Hosted business owner John Crotty, CEO of Gesper Systems, Partner at American Sound Masking, and Owner – Managing Director of Crotty Capital, LLC.  Explained the mission and programs of Innovate New Albany. Invited John to visit again for our TIGER Events. Also explored possibilities for John to leverage his financial skills and business savvy to lead a TIGER Event of some type in the future.
  • Tue June 25 – Met with Doug May, Area President at Focus CFO, an provider of CFO services on a fractional basis to small and mid-sized businesses.  Explained the mission and programs of Innovate New Albany. Explored the possibility of Doug participating in our Expert Office Hours program later in 2019.
