Business leaders often leap to the conclusion that they MUST have an app custom-built for their business to meet its “highly specialized” needs and goals. While this is sometimes correct, more often it’s just an impulse driven by a desire to “keep up” or the feeling that “everyone else is doing it.”

So how do you know if a custom app is really the best fit for your business or for your specific needs? Figuring this out can be very challenging! And, if the answer is “Yes,” how do you know where to start?

In this TIGER Talk, our presenter Bryan Gintz will explore several scenarios where a business’s software needs can actually be satisfied using existing tools, like WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix.

Bryan also knows there are reasons why companies eventually DO need to create custom software solutions. For companies at or near that stage, Bryan will provide information to help you leave with excitement and a good understanding of what to expect in planning and executing the development of your custom app!

Bryan Gintz is the founder of Novvia, a custom software development company in Columbus. One of Bryan’s greatest joys (outside of his wife and kids) is working on apps. This includes both his own apps (Signal Spy, Fialer, Lendbrary) and those he creates for other folks. Bryan is currently focused on creating apps using Flutter and Firebase, Google’s UI Toolkit and rapid app development back-end.

Bryan is eager to share what he has learned from his successes and failures and he wants to help others navigate the ever-shifting, dynamic world of app development. Bryan’s other interests include GoogleFi, Crypto Mining, 3D Printing and keeping up with all the new gadgets!
