Our TIGER Talk presenter, Tristan Ruml, is a leader in marketing and business development with deep expertise in helping businesses find leads, engage with prospects, close deals, and grow revenues!

Tristan joined Innovate New Albany in June 2022 for a talk entitled “Use LinkedIn to win Clients – Without Being Spammy.” (As background, see below for the complete description of Tristan’s previous talk.)

Responding to popular demand, we have invited Tristan back to provide more education on how to use LinkedIn effectively. This time, we’ll employ a Q&A format, so please submit questions for him with your registration (or email to neil@InnovateNewAlbany.org). For the latter part of this event, we’ll also be putting Tristan on “the hot seat,” asking him to respond to questions from our guests, on the fly.

Description of Tristan’s “Use LinkedIn to win Clients – Without Being Spammy” (presented on Friday 6/4/22)

For B2B companies in almost any market segment, the process of locating great sales prospects and then turning them into customers is often long, painful, and frustrating. Yet, achieving long-term, sustainable success is impossible without developing a reliable method to acquire new customers at a cost less than their lifetime value to your company.

LinkedIn, available at our fingertips, seems like a logical tool for this purpose. But, harnessing LinkedIn’s potential to win the client-acquisition game can be difficult. That’s because the barriers to using LinkedIn are very low. As a result, the people we want to reach are sick and tired of being “spammed”! They go to great lengths to prevent, avoid, or ignore LinkedIn communications from anyone who’s not already one of their close, trusted contacts.

But, it doesn’t have to be this hard. If you know what you’re doing, you can successfully use LinkedIn win new clients!

Tristan will explain how:

  • the LinkedIn platform works “under the hood”
  • to leverage our improved understanding of the platform to land opportunities
  • to “reverse-engineer” sales opportunities via LinkedIn
  • to create our own unique LinkedIn eco-systems that align with our individual personalities and help us generate opportunities organically
