Clinton Attracts Sell-out Crowd to Remarkable Evening
Former President Bill Clinton will address a sell-out crowd at “A Remarkable Evening,” the New Albany Community Foundation‘s 10th annual fundraiser November 29.
Clinton’s keynote will reinforce the message that good philanthropy is good business, says Craig Mohre, community foundation president. “He probably will talk about his Global Initiative and tie it into what we’re doing in New Albany,” Mohre adds.
Since leaving office, Clinton started the William J. Clinton Foundation, which provides lifesaving drugs to 4 million people with HIV and promotes sustainable growth initiatives in Africa and Latin America. In the U.S., his Alliance for a Healthier Generation is finding ways to fight childhood obesity.
The New Albany Community Foundation’s Healthy New Albany initiative, also promotes healthier lifestyles through efforts that include a community garden, local farmers market, lecture series and lunch and learn programs at the New Albany Business Park. The foundation’s mission is to improve education, health and wellness, sustainability and culture in the area.
