The world’s most respected experts in ecological science will participate in the first conference ever to link the Ecological Society of America (ESA), The International Association for Ecology (INTECOL) and the Society for Ecological Restoration International (SER). EcoSummit 2012 will take place from September 30 to October 5 in Columbus, Ohio. Organizers include The Ohio State University and the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
Among the notables are Nobel Prize laureate Elinor Ostrom, Pulitzer Prize winners E.O. Wilson and Jared Diamond, Kyoto Prize winner Simon Levin and Stockholm Water Prize laureates Sven Jørgensen and William Mitsch.
Nearly 69 symposia as well as general sessions, professional workshops, forums and poster presentations will address a variety of topics, including ecological restoration and ecological engineering, estimating ecosystem services, global change issues including climate change effects and the future of food security, lake, wetland, river, forest and agro-ecosystem management, corporate involvement in the environment and sustainable economics and business practices.
